About Us

Founded in 1976, QMS has pioneered development of innovative products for renal dialysis treatment and management. QMS has been supplying computerized solutions to the dialysis field for over three decades. As part of our commitment to this field, we have continually been involved in research and analysis in dialysis, particularly in regard to key clinical (e.g., adequacy, anemia and iron requirements) and management issues (e.g., the real cost of medications in dialysis).

QMS’ dialysis specific billing and clinical applications are supplied to our clients and are continually upgraded and maintained. We adhere to having only one version of the software to assure that all clients have the most current capabilities. New releases are supplied to all QMS customers as soon as they are available, there are no charges for these new and enhanced versions. This results in an application that proactively addresses clients’ needs by supplying continually improved applications at an affordable cost.

Our systems meet the challenges of both dialysis reimbursement and clinical information management with state-of-the-art software and extensive, consultative QMS customer support.

QMS founder John Sargent, Ph.D., is well known for developing techniques with Frank Gotch, M.D., for the kinetic modeling of urea and other solutes and drugs. Urea kinetic techniques guided The National Cooperative Dialysis Study (NCDS) from 1976 to 1982, for which Dr. Sargent was a principal investigator. They form the basis for the quantitative guidance of dialysis in current practices.
